In the lead-up to the 2012
London Olympics, Royal
Mail is releasing three sets
of stamps designed by
Studio David Hillman. This
was a great excuse to bring
together some of the
country’s finest artists and
illustrators with a brief to
champion the diverse sports
that feature in the 30th
Olympiad and concurrent
Paralympic Games. The first
set of ten appeared in
October, featuring the work
of fine stalwarts like George
Hardie and Julian Opie and
inspiring newcomers like
David Doyle and Natalie
Guinamard. The next set
will be in 2010 with a third
the following year.
